The original mandate of the Flames ownership group 29 years ago, that is still prominent today, was to ensure that the Calgary Flames would make a positive impact on the quality of life for all Calgarians. |Calgary Flames Charity Celebrity Golf Classic|
|Prior to training Camp, the players, coaches, alumni and management get together for one last round of golf. This year’s tournament was held on September 2nd and 3rd at Country Hills Golf Club. With the generous support of corporate Calgary and dedicated fans, the annual Calgary Flames Celebrity Golf Classic raises important funds for the Flames Foundation for Life.|
|Coaching Day in Alberta Powered by NSD|
|The Calgary Flames are excited to announce the eight season of Coaching Day in Alberta Powered by NSD. Joining forces with Hockey Canada, Hockey Alberta, Hockey Calgary and the Calgary Hitmen. Coaching Day in Alberta is an initiative that invites coaches and hockey administrators from across Alberta to attend a two-day seminar on a wide range of coaching topics including skill development and off-ice training. The new and expanded 2009-10 event included one day at NSD and one day at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th.|
|Wheelchair Hockey versus the Townsend Tigers|
|For the past 29 years, the Calgary Flames have gone to the Gordon Townsend School in the Alberta Children’s Hospital for a floor hockey game. It’s always a big hit with both the students and the Flames, who have yet to claim a victory from tenacious Tigers.|
|Alberta Children’s Hospital Christmas Visit|
|Each season the Calgary Flames players make a special visit to the Alberta Children’s Hospital to wish them a happy holiday and give them a special toy. The entire team distributes toys, visits families and make crafts with the kids staying at the hospital.|
Calgary Flames Better Halves Programs
|Scotiabank and the Flames Better Halves Ultimate Ladies Night Out|
|An evening of fun, food and fashion, this annual event, begun in 2008, has raised more than $130,000. The event features a fashion show with the Better Halves modeling outfits from local shops which are raffled off. There are also raffles for trips and diamonds and a silent auction of baskets donated by each Flames player and his partner and filled with a few of their favourite things.
The 2012 Ultimate Ladies Night Out presented by Scotiabank will be held on April 4th at Flames Central. This year's event features a fashion show hosted by Cross Iron Mills and a chance to win an Air Canada trip for two and a $10 thousand diamons from Jewels by Maxime's.
|Coca-Cola and Flames Ornaments|
|The Calgary Flames players’ wives and girlfriends have also embraced the team’s commitment to the community. Again this season, the ‘Better Halves’ sold limited edition Coca-Cola Flames Christmas ornaments in support of the Flames Foundation for Life. on the concourse December 9th and 11th.|
|Good Earth and Flames Autographed Pucks|
|The Calgary Flames Better Halves also took to the concourse for the first two playoff games of the 2008 season. Good Earth/Calgary Flames autographed pucks were sold April 13th and 15th to help raise money for the Rotary/Flames House through the Flames Foundation for Life!|
|Reading…Give It A Shot!|
|For 13 seasons, Flames players have been visiting Grade 4, 5 and 6 students as part of the Reading…Give It A Shot! program. This reading incentive program encourages students to read by combining player visits with a bookmark reward system. |Calgary Flames Ambassadors Celebrity Poker Tournament|
|A fun-filled annual evening that helps raise money for charities through the Flames Foundation for Life. The annual event sees local celebrities lay the cards on the table for the Flames Foundation for Life at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino. The 2010-11 event is February 23.|
Danone Superskills - the ultimate display of skill, speed and strength as Flames players compete against each other. This is not only a fun filled event for everyone involved, but also a great fundraising opportunity for the Flames Foundation for Life and the NHLPA’s Goals and Dreams Fund. This season's event took place on Sunday, January 3rd at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
|Pond Hockey by ENMAX|
|This will mark the 11th season that the Calgary Flames have teamed up with ENMAX and Calgary Hockey Development to match minor hockey players with their NHL heroes. Evenings of Pond Hockey by ENMAX take place on outdoor community rinks in January and February.|
|The Calgary Flames, KidSport, and the NHL Officials Association (NHLOA) have partnered up to present a unique for youth to attend a Flames game and meet NHL officials. Once a month two lucky people through KidSport are hosted to the game, receive Flames jerseys and a trip to event level to ask the officials questions and get a special gift.
