The fact that a professional sports team is a representative of a community is not a given. It is a relationship that the Flames continuously work to develop by supporting programs that develop grassroots hockey in Southern Alberta.

As we move forward into the upcoming season below are the components in our commitment to minor hockey we plan to continue to support as well as new initiatives in our effort to nourish and breed the loyal fan base known as the C of Red.  

Calgary Sun / Shaganappi Chev Minor Hockey Relay Intermission Feature

Calgary Flames regular season home games will once again showcase Calgary Sun / Shaganappi GM Minor Hockey Relay intermission features this season.

This intermission consists of two teams of five players each, selected to compete in a relay race against each other between periods on Saddledome ice. Anyone who would like to take part in this program can enter for their chance to win through the Calgary Sun or at Shaganappi GM dealership.

*This contest is open to Calgary minor hockey players aged 5-10.
Calgary Co-op Kids Club Olympia Rider
Each Calgary Flames regular season home game features a Calgary Co-op Kids Club Olympia Rider. Winners will receive two tickets to the game that they were drawn for and will ride along on the Calgary Co-op Olympia Machine as it floods the ice after the pre-game warm-up skate. Pick up an entry form at any participating Calgary Co-op location for your chance to win.

* This contest to open to Calgary Co-op Kids Club members ages 12 and under.
Scotiabank Skater

Minor hockey players surge off the bench at every Calgary Flames regular season home game to lead the entire Flames team onto the ice. Scotiabank Skaters stand on the blue line with the starting lineup for anthems before puck drop too. ENMAX Pond Hockey
The Calgary Flames and ENMAX are once again proud to partner up in presenting the ENMAX Rinklighter program which sees members of the Calgary Flames visit a Calgary community rink to play a game of hockey with members of a minor hockey team. Danone Super Skills
Minor hockey players have the chance to play with the Flames in the Danone Superskills event at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Minor hockey teams will be tested by Hockey Alberta on specific hockey skills within their region. Finalists are then invited to come to the Saddledome to vie for the chance to compete in the skills with members of the Calgary Flames.
Coaching Day in Alberta
  The Calgary Flames, Hockey Canada, Hockey Alberta and Hockey Calgary join forces to host a day that invites coaches and hockey administrators from across the province to attend a one-day seminar on a wide range of coaching topics including skill development and off-ice training.
Calgary Sun Meet your Favourite Flame
After select Flames regular season home games, youths under the age of 18 have the chance to go down to the Flames Dressing Room and meet one of their favourite Calgary Flames players. Calgary Flames Hockey School
Every summer, Okanagan Hockey School and the Calgary Flames partner to host a three week camp for kids aged 5 through 17. The school focuses on both off ice and on-ice skill development while featuring visits from Calgary Flames players, coaches and prospects.
Scotiabank Girls Hockey Fest
The Flames are excited to partner with Scotiabank in a commitment to help make hockey more accessible to girls of all ages and proud to support the annual Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest program at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Scotiabank Calgary Girls HockeyFest provides females 7 to 14 years of age with an opportunity to improve their on-ice game and off-ice life skills. The players will skate on the Saddledome ice while receiving instruction from some of Canada’s most successful women’s hockey players - including Team Canada Olympic gold medalists.
